We propose and demonstrate an $8\times 8$ flexible wavelength cross-connect (FWXC) switch that supports flex-grid wavelength assignment switching with contentionless feature. The developed switch is characterized for insertion loss, passband, frequency-tuning granularity, and port crosstalk. Based on the FWXC, we experimentally demonstrate a novel ultracompact colorless/directionless/contentionless-reconfigurable...
We propose a novel and low-cost SRS crosstalk management scheme in pilot tone based monitoring system. An experiment on 40-channel WDM system demonstrated the monitoring deterioration due to SRS crosstalk was greatly mitigated.
This paper proposes a new scheme using single N×N cyclic AWG and fast tunable lasers to realize a high-radix kN×kN optical burst switch, which is cost-effective compared with kN×kN AWG and cascaded N×N AWGs schemes.
We propose a coherent burst-mode receiver structure for receiving multi-wavelength short PDM-QPSK optical bursts. Data-aided algorithms are employed for fast-tunable LO transients compensation and channel estimation to facilitate rapid data recovery.
A multi-granularity optical burst switch fabric with 80M×80M(M=2, 4, 8…) ports using Fast Tunable Lasers and ULCF-AWG is proposed. This fabric for Petabits/s multi-chassis switches and routers is also experimentally demonstrated.
We present an efficient dynamic launch power control algorithm for mixed line rate transparent WSON with hybrid OOK and DQPSK transmissions. Compared to the fixed power configuration, the proposed strategy shows better performance and scalability.
