A new species, Eschweilera correae, is described and illustrated. This species grows in cloud forests of the Talamanca Mountains in Panama and Costa Rica at 700–1300 m elevation. In this paper E. correae is described, and information on common names, ecology, distribution, phenology, dispersal, pollination, etymology, field characters, and conservation status according to IUCN criteria is provided.
