We study the magnetic states of π-SQUIDs by applying first-order perturbation analysis to the non-linear ordinary differential equations governing the dynamics of the Josephson junctions in these devices. Persistent currents are explicitly calculated in terms of the externally applied magnetic flux. The ranges of magnetic flux values where paramagnetic or diamagnetic states can be found are determined.
