Spray‐Pyrolyse ist eine effiziente Methode zum Aufbau einer Photoanode mit guter Kontrolle auf der Nanometerebene. Eine beispiellose Lichtumwandlungseffizienz von 7.5 % für ZnO‐basierte Farbstoffsolarzellen wurde auf einer Photoelektrode aus polydispergierten ZnO‐Aggregaten von Nanokristalliten über einer kompakten ZnO‐Pufferschicht bei einer Temperatur von 450 °C erreicht. Hierarchisch strukturierte ZnO‐Photoanoden für Farbstoffsolarzellen können durch Sprühpyrolyse gefertigt werden. A. Vomiero und Mitarbeiter zeigen in ihrer Zuschrift auf S. 12 529 ff., dass diese Photoanoden Wirkungsgrade bis 7.5 % erreichen. Die Technik ist billig, leicht auszuführen und auch auf große Oberflächen übertragbar.
