Plasmon-induced transparency (PIT) in a compact plasmonic resonator structure, which consists of a metal– dielectric–metal waveguide with an aperture-coupled square cavity and a slot resonator, is investigated theoretically and numerically. We find the transparency window and the delay of slow light in this structure can be controlled at a fixed wavelength by carefully adjusting the geometrical parameters...
Achieving on-chip optical wavelength conversion is a long-pursued object with fundamental difficulty in integrated photonics. As a step toward this goal, we theoretically and numerically demonstrate that wavelength conversion can be realized in a high- $Q$ photonic crystal nanocavity, without any phase matching and high power requirement. The wavelength conversion efficiency of nearly 100% is achieved...
Single-longitudinal-mode (SLM) wavelength-tunable fiber lasers are extensively explored both in science and industry because of the applications in optical switching, network protection, instrument testing, optical sensors, and medical applications. In this paper, we present tunable SLM linear-cavity fiber lasers from design to experimental investigation.
Axial strain-induced effects on beating frequency from a short cavity PM-EDF based distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) laser was investigated and experimentally demonstrated for the first time. A linear strain sensitivity of 0.640 GHz/mε was obtained.
