The realization of an all-solid photonic bandgap optical fiber (PBGF) based on silicate glasses in spectral wavelength band $\sim 920$ nm is achieved. The structure parameters and bandgap of the fiber are both demonstrated theoretically by plane-wave expansion method calculations and experimentally by near-field measurements. The all-solid silicate glass PBGF has one bandgap and has a core transmission...
2 mum emission spectra of Tm-Ho co-doped fluorophosphate glasses are measured and investigated. When doping 4 mol% TmF3 and 1 mol%HoF3, the most intense 2.0 mum emssion is achieved. Combining the energy transfer processes, the reason is discussed.
Glasses xBi2O3-35B2O3-(65-x)Ga2O3 (x=45, 50, 55, 60 mol%) were prepared. The density and molar volume increase with the content of B2O3 but the thermal and optical properties become better with the increase of Ga2O3 content.
