Microstructure optimized, solution-grown perovskite thin film with high optical gain is sandwiched between two nanoporous GaN-based DBRs forming a vertical cavity. Low threshold spectrally and spatially coherent near infrared lasing is achieved by optical pumping.
We report intriguing thermo-optic oscillation dynamics, for the first time in a high-Q LiNbO3 microresonator that results from combined effects of thermal refraction, thermal expansion, and photo-refraction.
We report a novel approach to dramatically suppress the fundamental temperature fluctuations and thermo-optic noises of a high-Q microresonators by orders of magnitudes, achieved remarkably via pure optical means without cooling the device temperature.
To avoid the introduction of false information during the fusion progress, a novel multi-focus image fusion method is proposed in quaternion wavelet transform domain. To obtain the dependency in different high frequency subbands, a quaternion wavelet contextual hidden Markov model (Q-CHMM) is established for modeling quaternion wavelet coefficients. And for better image representations, several features...
The influence of optical interference induced by reflection of photodiode on the phase noise of optoelectronic oscillator is experimentally investigated. The phase noise at 10-kHz offset is improved by 18-dB through optical interference suppression.
Terahertz radiation occupies a large portion of the electromagnetic spectrum between the infrared and microwave bands from 0.1 to 10 THz. This frequency range presents the next frontier in imaging science and technology. Compared to the relatively well-developed imaging techniques at microwave and optical frequencies, however, basic research, new initiatives, and advanced technology developments in...
Introduction to THz Wave Photonics examines the science and technology related to terahertz wave technologies, taking a dual approach between presenting the field’s history while simultaneously providing an overview of existing technology. The latest research in developing THz areas such as electromagnetic waves are presented, along with an introduction to continuous wave THz technology. Authors...
Content Centric Network (CCN) has become a heated research topic recently, as it is proposed as an alternative of the future network. The routers in CCN have the caching abilities and the caching strategies affect the system performance greatly. Each content in CCN is associated with a popularity, which is determined by the corresponding requested times. Popularity-aware caching scheme caches the...
With rapid increases in demand for mobile data, mobile network operators are trying to expand wireless network capacity by deploying WiFi hotspots to offload their mobile traffic. However, these network-centric methods usually do not fulfill interests of mobile users (MUs). MUs consider many problems to decide whether to offload their traffic to a complementary WiFi network. In this paper, we study...
Polarity modulation of single-layer WSe2 field effect transistor is investigated by using hydrazine as a solution-processable and effective n-type dopant for WSe2. Compared to the intrinsic hole-dominant ambipolar behaviors, highly effective n-type doping characteristics are achieved after hydrazine treatment. It is found that the on-current improves obviously by one order of magnitude and the metal-WSe2...
The helicopter speed reducer contains pinion gear, shaft, bearing, flange and other types of accessories. Due to the complexity of mechanical structure, the health characteristics have too much associated factors. In fact, the health monitoring on speed reducer have difficulties on its validity and practicability. Based on the analysis of existing problems of current research, this paper studies failure...
In this paper, we try to develop a general framework of 3D shape reconstruction strategy with extremely rare point cloud extracted for fish ethology research. Particle filter is first taken to focus on fish trajectory tracking from monocular video sequence. The Speeded Up Robust Features (SURF) technique will be adopted to match the same tracking fish across the overlapping view fields with more stable...
A novel method for high frequency microwave phase noise measurement by photonic microwave down-conversion based on an optoelectronic oscillator is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The measurement of single-sideband phase noise of the 10–12 GHz microwave signals under test are obtained. The phase noise floor of the measurement system is −140 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz offset.
In this paper, an analysis into the wireless power transfer system using inductive coupling with multiple transmitters and single receiver is presented. It is proved that, with certain total amount of input power from all of the transmitters, there is a maximal output power that can be delivered to the receiver. To achieve this optimal result, the electrical currents in all the transmitters shall...
In this article, we report a Field Effect Transistor (FET) with Aluminum doped graphene channel. The graphene is doped by spin coating a chemical dopant solution which tailored the electrical properties of graphene, such as transfer characteristics and output characteristics. The Doping of graphene was successfully verified by X-Ray photoelectron spectra (XPS) measurements. The testing results showed...
This paper introduces the open concepts into the cause Visual Basic Programing practice teaching, and builds a practice teaching system based on hierarchical project decomposition and design projects for professional practical teaching. The students' professional application capability is developed by means of professional practical teaching. The students' self-study capability is improved by adopting...
Conventional photodetectors are mostly propelled by p-n junctions, where the detection wavelength is constrained by the bandgap of semiconductor material. Recently, a meta-linsulator-metal (MIM) configuration is demonstrated to be a promising candidate for the next generation photodetection due to its highly tunable operation wavelength, simple configuration, and possibly low cost. The MIM photodetector...
Brightness temperature change of observation target in one imaging period will introduce image blur to the retrieved image of geostationary interferometric microwave sounder (GIMS), which uses rotating circular array to realize time-sharing sampling other than snap-shot to reduce system complexity but meanwhile resulting in a relatively long imaging period. In this paper, an interpolation method utilizing...
In this paper, a novel classification method among running, walking and standing by combining common spatial patterns(CSP) and the fastICA feature extraction method together and constructing a Small-world Neural Network(SWNN, for short) through the gait feature extracted is proposed. We conducted our experiments on a treadmill at 0km/h, 1.6km/h and 3km/h speed separately. The EEG data is accompanied...
The widely and frequently usage of the text document in the communication make the text-based information hiding technology still an important topic in computer security. Currently, the popularly used techniques in this area are facing many problems, such as poor robustness, lower embedding rate and semantic clutter. As a result, the secret information can be easily detected or even extracted by the...
