Breit einsetzbar ist die hier beschriebene carboxygesteuerte asymmetrische Hydrierung von 1,1‐Diarylethenen und 1,1‐Dialkylethenen mit chiralen Katalysatoren aus Iridium und einem Spiro‐Phosphan‐Oxazolin. Sie liefert chirale Diarylethane bzw. γ‐Methylfettsäuren mit ausgezeichneter Enantioselektivität.
Hoch aktiv: Iridium‐Komplexe mit chiralen Spiro‐Aminophosphanliganden wurden synthetisiert und als Katalysatoren für die asymmetrische Hydrierung von α‐substituierten Acrylsäuren eingesetzt (siehe Schema). Die Komplexe waren hochaktive Katalysatoren mit Umsatzfrequenzen bis 6000 h−1, und die Katalysatormenge konnte auf 0.01 Mol‐% gesenkt werden.
