The aqueous sol‐gel synthesis of γ‐Al2O3 modified with different silicon precursors {trimethoxysilane, triethoxysilane and N‐[3‐(trimethoxysilyl)propyl]ethylene diamine} has been investigated. Two parameters have been studied: the silicon addition step and the type of silicon alkoxide. A first observation was that adding a silicon alkoxide either before or just after the precipitation step influences...
Large-scale InP-based photonic integrated circuits were first introduced in 2004, representing over an order-of-magnitude increase in integration complexity for commercial InP devices. In this talk we will review recent developments and manufacturing of these novel components.
We report on development of large-scale and high functionality photonic integrated circuits on InP and Si platforms for transmitter, receiver, filtering and routing applications and discuss the merits of both platform.
