Single-mode hole-assisted-fibre (HAF) based optical cord reveals no multipath interference (MPI) degradation independent of the existence of a mode-field diameter mismatch. Moreover, sweep fusion splicing effectively reduces MPI even if the HAF has extremely strong confinement.
An AlN-based intersubband optical switch was fabricated with spot-size converter utilizing Si3N4 as a cladding layer. Intersubband absorption was observed at 1.48 mum. Absorption saturation by 5 dB was achieved with energy of 25 pJ.
An AlN-based intersubband optical switch was investigated. Narrow absorption spectrum and low insertion loss were obtained. Absorption saturation by 10 dB was achieved at a wavelength of 1.42 mum with an energy of 50 pJ.
A rectangular waveguide compatible NRD guide E-plane bandpass filter is proposed for millimeter wave OFDM applications. The NRD guide E- plane bandpass filter is constructed by inserting a metal foil array in the E-plane of NRD guide. Simulation, fabrication, and handling of the filter are not difficult because each resonator is constructed by a couple of metal foils of a simple shape. A Chebyshev...
