In this study, a robust QoS Scheduling scheme using alternate paths for recovery from link failures is proposed in the IEEE 802.15.4e with tree-based network structure. In the proposed scheme, margin slots used for alternate paths are included in the scheduling. Simulation results show that the margin slots of the proposed scheme results in higher throughput and a longer end-to-end delay performance.
In this paper, a new adaptive cooperative spectrum sensing scheme using random access is proposed in a cognitive radio network. Cooperative spectrum sensing improves spectrum sensing performance considerably. In typical cooperative spectrum sensing situations, spectrum sensing data of several secondary users are collected before sensing decision. Yet how to collect the sensing data is not an easy...
The number of nodes within 1-hop range plays an important role in determination of ad-hoc network performance. The more the number of 1-hop neighbor increases, the more routing traffic is generated. Although there have been several studies on the optimal number of 1-hop neighbor nodes, they had not considered routing overhead. In this study, we derive new optimal number of 1-hop neighbor nodes to...
Cognitive radio communication has gained widespread interests recently. In cognitive radio systems, secondary users transmit using frequency spectrum not used by primary users. Therefore, reliable and fast spectrum sensing is important. Quit periods are used in which transmitting secondary users suspend their transmission to sense signals of primary users. Our contribution in this paper is that how...
