Electroencephalography (EEG) has high temporal resolution, but lacks high spatial resolution even after increasing the number of electrodes. Although EEG is intended to record cerebral activity, it also records electrical activities arising from sites other than the brain, artifacts. To remove major artifacts like electrooculogram (EOG), electrocardiogram (EMG) and ECG present in EEG, many techniques...
Noisy environments seriously degrade the performance of speech recognition systems. Here we implement a high performance speech enhancement algorithm. Data from speech separation challenge were used to evaluate the method. It was observed that the enhanced speech significantly improved the recognition performance. In 2 out of 4 SNR cases, over 100% relative percentage improvements were achieved. Standalone...
We demonstrate a novel OSNR monitoring technique that is independent of PMD, chromatic dispersion, and noise polarization by using a 1-bit delay interferometer in a 10-Gb/s NRZ-OOK system with OSNR ranging from 5dB to 25dB.
