We demonstrate high numerical aperture (NA=0.8) transmissive metasurface-based lenses with efficiencies as high as 86% in the visible spectrum. Meta-lenses allow diffraction-limited focusing at red (λ=660 nm), green (λ=532 nm), and blue (λ=405 nm) wavelengths. They can resolve nanoscale features with sub-wavelength gaps.
We demonstrate an experimental investigation on forced convection heat removal for high power digital broadcast Alters by using microparticle suspensions flowing through a multi-channels cooling system. The flow passes through the channel under a uniform temperature and laminar flow conditions. The process of heat transfer was examined by thermal image camera at various flow rates. The temperature...
An overview of recent results of high-speed video observations at the Lightning Observatory in Gainesville (LOG), Florida, is given. The emphasis is placed on the lightning attachment process and interaction of lightning with tall grounded objects.
Image-based rendering (IBR) is a promising technology for rendering photo-realistic views of scenes from a collection of densely sampled images or videos, and for developing revolutionary immersive viewing systems. However, most multiple camera systems are designed to be stationary and hence their ability to cope with moving objects and dynamic environment is somewhat limited. This paper studies the...
This paper proposes a system for photorealistic interactive rendering of ancient Chinese artifacts for cultural heritage preservation using multiview images captured by a circular multiple-camera array. It employs 3D reconstruction and precomputed shadow field techniques to enable real-time relighting and object interaction. Moreover, Gabor features are employed to improve the robustness of line matching...
Image-based rendering (IBR) is an emerging technology for rendering photo-realistic views of scenes from a collection of densely sampled images or videos. It provides a framework for developing revolutionary virtual reality and immersive viewing systems. This paper studies the design of a movable image-based rendering system based on a class of dynamic representations called plenoptic videos. It is...
Image-based rendering (IBR) is an emerging and promising technology for photo-realistic rendering of scenes and objects from a collection of densely sampled images and videos. This paper proposes an image-based approach to the rendering and multi-view display of ancient Chinese artifacts for cultural heritage preservation. A multiple-camera circular array was constructed to record images of the artifacts...
