The applications of solution-exfoliated graphene oxide (GO) as an electrical/electrochemical conductor require rational design–based approaches. Herein, we show that reduced GO nanosheets with highly ordered or nanoporous structures can be fabricated by treatment of graphite oxide (GrO) having variable-oxidation-degree with hot KOH solution. As model systems, GrO powders fabricated by modified Brodie...
Poly(lactic acid) (PLA)/lipophilized graphene oxide (LGO) nanohybrids were prepared using a solution blending method. Graphene oxide (GO) was synthesized using a modified Hummers method and then lipophilized by functionalization with alkylamines such as octylamine, dodecylamine or octadecylamine (ODA). PLA/GO nanohybrids were also prepared for comparison. Among the LGOs, ODA‐GO was chosen to produce...
Poly(D,L‐lactide‐co‐glycolide) 50:50 (PLGA)/graphene oxide (GO) nanocomposite films were prepared with various GO weight fractions. A significant enhancement of mechanical properties of the PLGA/GO nanocomposite films was obtained with GO weight fractions. The incorporation of only 5 wt% of GO resulted in an ~2.5‐fold and ~4.7‐fold increase in the tensile strength and Young's modulus of PLGA, respectively...
