We propose a novel method for joint probabilistic constrained robust beamforming and antenna selection used in cognitive radio (CR) networks. Assuming complex Gaussian distributed channel state information (CSI) errors, the Bernstein-type inequalities are used to transform the no closed-form probabilistic constrained into the deterministic forms. Moreover, l1-norm is introduced as the closest convex...
This paper introduces an implementation of GPU-based beamforming antenna module consisting of 4 elements. The proposed system can be mounted on top of the next generation base station system to reduce the radiating power at the base station. The transmitting power at base station is reduced proportionally to the number of antenna elements, due to the pencil beam provided between the base station and...
It is well known that Approximated Maximum Likelihood(AML) estimator has the best performance for short time sampling wideband source bearing estimation. But for a long time, the heavy computational load of maximizing the multivariate, highly non-linear likelihood function prevented it from popular use. In this paper, we introduced Ant Colony Algorithm (ACA) to work with AML for computing the exact...
In this paper, a Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) monostatic sonar scheme that can deal with multiple targets is presented, where orthogonal waveforms are transmitted simultaneously. Meanwhile the Capon estimator for this sonar system is derived in detail. And the performance of the MIMO sonar is analyzed via experiments in an anechoic water tank, as compared with its phased-array counterpart...
In order to reduce the computational complexity and resolution threshold of classical TCT method for wideband signals, the real value processing and an improved MUSIC method based on subspace projection are incorporated for central symmetric arrays to propose a new direction finding method for wideband sources. This method first transforms the complex data covariance matrices after noise removal and...
This paper proposes two subspace algorithms, named S-MUSIC and S-SSMUSIC, based on the MUSIC and SSMUSIC algorithms for direction finding in MIMO array systems, which achieve improved performance by exploiting the waveform information about the transmitted signals. Numerical results show that the proposed algorithms outperform their traditional counterparts at low SNR.
Many of the DOA methods such as MUSIC, ESPRIT and ML are applicable only to narrowband signal sources. However, in many case, using information from multiple frequency bins in a wideband methods is necessary to achieve the processing gain needed to obtain good estimates. A beam-space genetic algorithm (BGA) is introduced for direction of arrival (DOA) estimation of wideband signals in this paper....
