This paper presents the Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulation results of a very complex AC-fed induction motor drive. The drive is composed of an AC-stage composed of 3 saturable zig-zag transformers in series, each connected to a 3-level NPC inverter and DC-link with RLC filter. The DC-link feeds another 3-level NPC-based induction motor drive and also comprises a precharge circuit. All switching...
To be clear of the default probability of electricity fees from power clients in advance and change the postmortem management mode to the preventive management mode, it would decrease the default risk greatly in the process of electricity sales in the utility. Based on the analysis of complicated reasons of default, the main elements whose effect on default are known, the risk model involved with...
The concept of a modular climbing caterpillar robot is inspired by the kinematics of the real caterpillar. Due to the fixed constraints between the suckers and wall, the gait of the caterpillar robot engages a changing kinematic chain which is from an open chain to a closed chain, and then to an open chain orderly. This paper investigates the joint control methods of the gait in detail. During the...
This paper presents the modeling and minimization technique for speed ripple of a vector controlled faulty induction motor (FIM) with broken rotor bars. First, the performance of the FIM is investigated in terms of speed ripple under the open-loop condition. Then, a new mechanical model of induction motor is developed incorporating the speed ripple. Based on this model a new NFC is proposed to tolerant...
This paper presents the research of the air arc simulation for low voltage switching devices. Based on magneto-hydrodynamic (MHD) equations, we developed a time-dependent three-dimensional (3-D) model for the switching arc considering Lorentz forces, Ohmic heating and radiation transport. The arc elongation, arc commutation, arc motion and arc cutting process are all included in the analysis.
