Phytochemical investigation on oligostilbenes in a methanol extract of Vitis coignetiae (Japanese name: yama-budou) resulted in the isolation of a novel stilbene dimer, -viniferin diol, and two novel stilbene tetramers, vitisin B and its stereoisomer cis-vitisin B. The structures of the oligostilbenes were determined by spectroscopic evidence and chemical reactions.
Patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) often show impaired recall, visuospatial disturbances, executive deficits, bradyphrenia and depression, although linguistic disorders are rare. In the present study, N400 components of event-related potentials (ERPs) were analyzed to evaluate language information processing in PD.ERPs using word recognition paradigm constituted of nonword, related and unrelated...
We studied somatosensory P3 and auditory P3 in patients with dementia of the Alzheimer type (DAT), those with vascular dementia (VD) and healthy control subjects using conventional averages and single-trial waveform analysis.Regardless of modalities, the P3 latencies in demented patients were significantly longer than those in control subjects. Although the P3 components showed no significant modality...
