A novel wideband dual-polarized magneto-electric dipole unidirectional antenna is proposed in this paper. The antenna is composed of dual-layer magneto-electric (ME)-dipole and two Γ-shaped probes. Its two ports both achieve a common impedance bandwidth of 91.6%(SWR<2). The antenna has excellent performance in isolation, which is more than 15dB, and a high front-to-back ration more than 14.8dB...
A key challenge in designing tightly coupled dipole arrays (TCDAs) and connected arrays is common-mode resonance, which could dramatically influence the bandwidth. In this article, a double dipoles per cell structure is applied in TCDA unit design in order to solve the resonance by moving the resonance frequency above the operation band. The simulation results show that the double dipoles per cell...
An ultra-wideband (UWB) Tightly Coupled Dipole Array (TCDA) composed of a horizontal inter-digital electric dipole and two WAIM layers is designed. The antenna is excited by a pair of 50Ω coaxial lines feed. A prototype was simulated. Results show that a bandwidth more than 5.7:1, with VSWR ≤ 3 from 2.4GHz to 13.6GHz, was achieved. The angle of scanning ranges up to 55° in E-plane while 50° in H-plane.
The effect of the phase approximation used in the above communication on the solution is discussed. It can be found that this phase approximation can not achieve the second order accuracy, however, it can reduce the possible maximum phase error especially for far-separated groups compared with only using linear term. Furthermore, we give a new formulation of fast dipole method (FDM), in which the...
