An optical wireless personal area communication system supporting multiple users is experimentally demonstrated based on 16-CAP modulation combined with TDM. Error-free communication is achieved with 10 Gb/s data rate for up to 10 users.
This paper will outline proof-of-concept demonstrations of multi-Gigabit/s optical wireless transmission and will discuss challenges faced by the optical wireless in meeting Tutu re requirements such as supporting multiple users, low profile transceivers and resilience against noise and obstructions.
A novel 3-dimensional indoor localization system based on the optical wireless technology is proposed. The height information is obtained by using different signal divergences. Experimental results show that an average localization accuracy of about 8.5 cm can be achieved.
With high expansibility and efficient power usage, tiered wireless sensor networks are widely deployed in many fields as an important part of Internet of Things (IoTs). It is challenging to process range query while protecting sensitive data from adversaries. Moreover, most existing work focuses on privacy-preserving range query neglecting collusion attacks and probability attacks, which are more...
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) have been widely deployed in monitoring and surveillance areas. With the improvement of sensor nodes' processing capability, multi-media transmission in WSNs has become a new trend. Since multi-media has strict Quality of Service (QoS) requirements, which calls for efficient scheduling algorithm that could guarantee the end-to-end delay and reduce the energy consumption...
EA-MAC protocol is proposed on the basis of SMAC protocol to remedy the shortcomings of SMAC. In the EA-MAC, node correlation analysis algorithm and traffic adaptive duty cycle mechanism are added. Meanwhile, the residual energy is introduced into the existing traffic adaptive back-off mechanism to measure the saving efficiency. In the node correlation algorithm, all network nodes are divided...
Wireless Sensor Network is an important part of the Internet of Things. Data privacy preservation in wireless sensor networks is extremely urgent and challenging. To address this problem, we propose in this paper a privacy-preserving data aggregation protocol in wireless sensor networks. Compared to the previous research, our protocol protects the actual data from other nodes based on a rotation scheme...
This paper presents the design and implementation of an Embedded Laboratory Security Monitoring System (ELSMS). The system includes a web server which acquires video information through camera, and Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) which gets environmental parameters through sensors and sends them to the web server. Users can access the Monitoring Server (MS) through PCs or Wireless Mobile Terminals(WMT)...
An improved 2D weighted centroid localization algorithm for Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) is proposed. Compared with most previous approaches, the improved algorithm uses a optimized threshold to restrict the number of anchors involved. Simulation results show that our improved weighted centroid localization algorithm increased the positioning accuracy by at least 15% than traditional Monte Carlo...
In this paper, we proposes a multi-gateway nodes data collected routing algorithm based on load balancing(TBLB algorithm) and energy balance, robustness, data forwarding and anti-interference etc, which is multi-gateway nodes-based in wireless sensor network. This algorithm fully takes into account the problem of excessive power consumption when it serves as the data forwarding task, to reduce node...
Traditional key management techniques, such as public key cryptography or key distribution center (e.g., Kerberos), are often not effective for wireless sensor networks for the serious limitations in terms of computational power, energy supply, network bandwidth and defection of centra authority. In order to balance the security and efficiency, we propose a new scheme by employing LU Composition techniques...
The monitoring system in coal mine has special requirements for data query. Analysis shows that routing in the system should have four features: data-centric routing, supporting query of geographic position, low delay and high reliability of data transmission, robustness of topology. A mobile agent based routing algorithm with mobile sink and a dynamical weight metric which is derived from its current...
Wireless sensor network (WSN) is a novel technology in acquiring and processing information and has been an active research area in recent years. In this paper, firstly, a high reliability routing protocol is designed which is able to rapidly detect the change of topological and routing information of network, choose the best route, recover route when some nodes damaged. Secondly, the basic information...
The paper discuses an automatic detecting scheme that uses acoustics localization technique as detecting principle, which solves the problems such as bad real-time character, low location accuracy and the security that resulted from depending on detecting point of impact artificially in the past. Based on measurements which are limited to time differences of arrival (TDOA) of short-duration acoustic...
This paper analyses three existing methods of WSN data storage. Based on disadvantage of data-centric storage(DCS), the shortest path first of DCS(SPF-DCS) is present. Compared to DCS, the advantage of this method is that home node finds only one node as its own replica node. SPF-DCS can reduce communication between home node and other nodes, decrease the power consumption of node and prolong lifetime...
In wireless sensor networks, the accuracy of data fusion is likely to be contaminated by the environment affects nearby the nodes. In this paper, an appropriate fusion model and algorithm is given to solve this problem. According to the clustering fusion model, a weighted fuzzy fusion algorithm based on fuzzy reasoning for cluster heads, is proposed. The advantage of this algorithm is to vary weight...
Wireless sensor network is applied widely in monitoring system of coal mine. An application environment of WSN in coal mine is analyzed to satisfy the data acquirement of mine monitoring. The result of analysis shows that routing protocols applied in coal mine should have four characteristics: data-centric routing mechanism, supporting query of geographic position information, low delay and high reliability...
Due to the special and complicated environment in coal mine, the reliability and energy-efficiency are both the primary issues to be considered during the design of the wireless sensor networks (WSNs) for coal mine. In this paper, we put forward a reliable geographical adaptive fidelity (RGAF) routing protocol, which is based on cluster-unit topology (CUT) for the WSNs in coal mine. RGAF utilizes...
