The dynamics of dissipative solitons (DSs) are explored in a high-repetition-rate normal-dispersion erbium-doped fiber laser for the first time. Despite the high fundamental repetition rate of 129 MHz and, thus, the low pulse energy, a DS train with a dechirped pulse width of 418 fs, period doubling of single and dual DSs, and 258-MHz second-order harmonic mode locking of DSs, can be observed in the...
We report a novel method for all-optical generation of differential Manchester phase-shift keying (DMCPSK) coding. Multicasting generation of 40 Gbit/s DMCPSK coding is experimentally demonstrated using non-degenerate four-wave mixing (ND-FWM) in a highly nonlinear fiber (HNLF).
We report 40 Gbit/s phase-erased demodulation for RZ-DPSK/CSRZ-DPSK signals by exploiting cascaded second-order nonlinearities in a periodically poled lithium niobate (PPLN) waveguide. All-optical 40 Gbit/s ODB/AMI-to-RZ format conversion is also demonstrated in the experiment.
We propose logic XOR gate and format conversion for CSRZ-DPSK signals using FWM in an HNLF. All-optical 40Gbit/s multicasting CSRZ-DPSK logic XOR operation and CSRZ-DPSK to RZ-DPSK format conversion are simultaneously demonstrated in the experiment.
We experimentally demonstrate all-optical 40 Gbit/s multicasting XOR logic gate for NRZ-DPSK signals by using non-degenerate four-wave mixing (FWM) in a highly linear fiber (HNLF). Triple-channel XOR outputs are simultaneously achieved in the experiment.
We report tunable wavelength multicasting of picosecond pulses based on pulsed pumping four-wave mixing (FWM) in a highly nonlinear fiber (HNLF). By employing two or three input continuous-wave (CW) signals, single-to-dual, single-to-four, and single-to-six channel wavelength conversions are observed in the experiment, taking into account the evolution of CW optical waves into optical pulses during...
