In this paper, we demonstrated a signed chromatic dispersion (CD) monitoring method of 10 GHz nonreturn-to-zero differential phase-shift keying (NRZ-DPSK) and return-to-zero differential phase-shift keying (RZ-DPSK) signals by using asynchronous delay-tap sampling and an imperfect tuned delay interferometer. This method could monitor not only the value but also the polarity of residual CD. The demodulated...
We demonstrate an optical signal monitoring method for NRZ-DPSK signals using asynchronous delay tap sampling and Hausdorff distance measure. The application of the technique for residual dispersion monitoring is demonstrated and high tolerance to other impairments and pulse shape is shown.
We propose a novel re-modulation scheme using downstream OOK and upstream DPSK. A 30-km-range colorless WDM-PON without dispersion compensation and re-modulation synchronization was demonstrated within 1-dB penalty for both 10-Gbit/s downstream and 10-Gbit/s upstream signals.
