The concept of “identity-based broadcasting encryption” (IBBE) was presented and two IBBE schemes were proposed recently by Y. Mu et.al. in [1]. Here we show that the two IBBE schemes are suffering a linear attack. We also point out there is a wrong assumption in their schemes.
