In this paper an enhanced coupled microstrip ring-resonator is presented for poultry meat quality evaluation. The proposed 1 GHz ring-resonator demonstrates significant change in resonance frequency while characterizing the meat with different moisture content. Measured and simulated results are in very good agreement where the maximum discrepancy observed is 4.24%.
In this contribution, a simple but highly sensitive biosensor based on microstrip ring-resonator is presented for tissues moisture evaluation. By incorporating high impedance ring, tight and enhanced coupling mechanism the proposed 1 GHz ring-resonator demonstrates significant change in the resonance frequency than normal resonator. Simulated and measured results are in good agreement. The proposed...
Food labeling on various product is necessary to fulfill legal requirement as well as for consumer knowledge. In meat products, prevalence of fat content has importance from health perspective. The objective of this study is to determine the fat content of chicken meat using dielectric properties. Microstrip ring resonator based sensor has been used to determine these properties at 1GHz frequency...
This paper investigates the effect of a discrete PIN diode on Defected Ground Structure (DGS) where the different resonant frequency between ON and OFF state of the PIN diode is observed. Analytical modeling is determined and analyzed based on equivalent circuit of PIN diode and DGS. Then, a circuit simulation is performed using simulation software with different value of inductance and capacitance...
Generally, if using single low performance discrete PIN diode, it is difficult to get high isolation of Single Pole Double Throw (SPDT) switch at 2 GHz band. The PIN diodes are usually packaged in a standard package such as SOT23, SOT323, SOD323 or SOD523. Therefore, this paper proposed single switchable open stub resonator for isolation improvement of shunt SPDT discrete PIN diode switch for Time...
Multiple stop-bands are required in order to suppress interference in radio spectrum with multiple wireless systems operating in it. In addition, wireless communication systems usually require small devices to fulfill the miniaturization requirements and simplicity of mobile unit. As a result, this paper is to propose a novel miniaturized matched band-stop filter with high rejection level. This filter...
A quasi-elliptic triple-mode resonator filter is proposed in this paper. The filter is realized by having a capacitive coupling between the input and the output of a proposed triple mode resonator with one transmission zero at the high side of the passband. With the mentioned coupling, additional two transmission zeros are obtained at both sides of the passband which yields a quasi-elliptic response...
Conventional dual mode filters are realized by perturbing the electromagnetic field of ring resonator structures such that two orthogonal resonant modes occur, yielding a dual mode response. Due to the inherent resonant characteristic, the electrical length needed to establish the resonant condition is 360°. However it is felt that the size is still too large and unacceptable for the design of high...
This paper is to propose a multiband matched bandstop filter. A lossy resonator is proposed and it demonstrates the concept and design of a perfectly matched bandstop filter with a matched response.. The design is based on a half wavelength (λ/2) and quarter wavelength (λ/4) resonator with gap coupling, parallel with an all-pass nominally-90°-phase-shift element, which...
Dual mode filters have been widely used in wireless communications systems due to their advantageous of being small size, planar and low loss. Most of the dual mode filters are realized based upon dual mode ring or patch resonator such that the two orthogonal resonant modes occur, yielding a dual mode response. However the electrical length needed to establish the resonant condition is still considerably...
