An evanescent-field coupling characteristics of a periodical silica thin film long-period grating sputtered on tapered fibers is proposed and demonstrated. Modes coupling and tuning efficiency of the novel devices are experimental realization and extremely enhanced.
We demonstrate pulsewidth tunable Q-switched erbium fiber lasers using in-line high extinction ratio (> 30 dB) abrupt-tapered fiber Mach-Zehnder block filter and tunable Fabry-Perot filter in laser cavity. The pulsewidth can be tuning over 78ns~23ms.
A spectral flat-top, single resonant and ultra broadband - more than 180 nm in a -20 dB bandwidth, thin-clad ultra-broadband long-period fiber grating (UBLPG) filter with synthesizing using the Lagrange multiplier optimization (LMO) algorithm is presented in this paper.
Optimization correction of spectral distortion for superimposed DWDM multichannel fiber Bragg grating filters is performed with a hybrid Lagrange multiplier optimization algorithm to enable fast convergence as well as to retain the easy-fabrication merits.
A Lagrange multiplier optimization method to the inverse design problems for complex LPGs was developed in the present study. For the first time, an EDFA gain flattening LPG is successfully synthesized by the proposed algorithm.
We present the synthesis of multi-channel fiber Bragg grating (MCFBG) filters for dense wavelength-division-multiplexing (DWDM) application by using a simple optimization approach based on an optimal control technique (OCT). We demonstrate for the first time that the OCT method can be used to control and constrain various parameters of the designed MCFBG filters for practical application demands and...
