Medical social media analytics becomes more and more popular nowadays because of its effectiveness in benefiting diverse health-care applications. In this study, the essential disease prediction task is investigated and realized via medical social media analytics techniques. To be specific, arterial spin labeling (ASL), an emerging functional magnetic resonance imaging modality, is utilized to provide...
Spectral unmixing is one of the most challenging and fundamental problems in hyperspectral imagery. In this paper, we address a hyperspectral imagery unmixing problem by introducing sparse nonnegative matrix factorization unmixing algorithms into kernel space. Many sparse nonnegative matrix factorization algorithms has been recently applied to solve the hyperspectral unmixing problem because it overcome...
EMS of microgrid (I-IEMS) is developed to monitor and control distributed generator (DG). It i s necessary t o research practical I-IEMS for large-scale multi-microgrid. Energy Management System for microgrid in this paper is based on Smart Grid Dispatching Technical Support System (SGDTSS) which has been widely used in dispatching system of provincial or regional power grid. The secure operating...
Hand orientation is an important control parameter during reach-to-grasp task. In this paper, we presented a study for predicting hand orientation of non-human primate by decoding neural activities from primary motor cortex (M1). A non-human primate subject was guided to do reaching and grasping tasks meanwhile neural activities were acquired by chronically implanted microelectrode arrays. A Support...
Many complex systems have functional interdependency between each other and can be modeled as interdependent networks. The failure of a small fraction of nodes in interdependent networks may lead to catastrophic cascading failures across network borders. Starting from a model of static interdependent networks, by introducing lifetime for each component, we study the reliability properties and lifetimes...
Electrical contact is an important issue to high power microwave sources, pulsed power systems, field emitters, thin film devices and integrated circuits, and interconnects, etc. Current crowding, which leads to intense local heating, is a well known phenomenon associated with contact resistance for the above areas. This paper summarizes recent development on the accurate evaluation of contact resistance...
For a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) vector control system, based on integral sliding mode control of the speed loop controller, a new reaching law which can effectively restrain the inherent chattering problem of traditional sliding mode variable structure control is presented. To avoid control quantity of acceleration signal requirement, enhancing the system anti-interference ability,...
An improved bit-parallel RS encoding algorithm, which combines base conversion, multiplication, and base inverse conversion into a matrix operation, is presented in this paper, and a rapid way to generate this matrix is proposed at the same time. It is demonstrated that there is no need to search for the optimal dual basis. Finally, its feasibility and validity have been verified through FPGA platform.
We demonstrate nonparaxial Mathieu and Weber accelerating beams, generalizing the concept of previously found accelerating beams. Such beams bend into large angles along elliptical or parabolic trajectories but still retain nondiffracting and self-healing capabilities.
We theoretically and experimentally demonstrate self-accelerating Bessel-like optical beams propagating along arbitrary trajectories in free space. Such beams possess nearly symmetric nondiffracting main lobes and exhibit self-healing properties, promising for a variety of applications.
We demonstrate theoretically and experimentally that optical vortices can be navigated along arbitrary trajectories with a preserving donut-shaped main lobe. The possibility of using such self-accelerating vortex-Bessel-like optical beams for particle manipulation is also illustrated.
Aqueous suspensions containing pure gold nanoparticles and silica-gold core-shells are shown to exhibit different polarizibilities, thus allowing self-trapping of long needles of light. The different nonlinear mechanisms behind these processes are investigated.
A new 6D mesh/torus (Tofu) interconnect is implemented in the K Computer for achieving a performance of more than 10 petaflops. As expected, among its many interesting properties, such interconnect has large variations of latencies for communications within a node-group (intra-node-group) or between them (inter-node-group). Inspired by their works while recognizing the superior features of the recently...
While end-users enjoy the data service mashup with high convenience and flexibility, how to achieve the best performance with minimum maintenance cost is a challenging problem. In this paper, the data maintenance problem is analyzed, and the maintenance cost model for the data service mashup is built. The model measures the response cost and update cost of a group of data service mashups in terms...
As to the research on AspectJ in this context, after analyzing the Java program, AspectJ can realize the capture of the join points based on the Boolean or Compound expression in the Java program. The information includes: the time to judge the runtime condition of each join point as “true” use of the logic AND (&&) to combine pointcuts; and use of the logic OR (‖) to combine pointcuts; all...
As to the research on AspectJ in this context, after analyzing the Java program, AspectJ can realize capturing the information of object-based join points in the Java program. The information includes: the time when this references a specific type problem; the time when the target object of the join point is a specific type; and the time when the parameter of the join point is a digital, type and...
This paper presents a novel demand response program for optimising power systems demand due to electric vehicle charging load. Based on a mathematical solution to the problem of power systems demand optimization, a demand response program which includes multiple tariffs for different groups of customers is proposed. This program takes into account consumer behaviour with and without external incentives...
We show theoretically and experimentally that photonic lattices constructed from random components residing on a ring in momentum space are amorphous, yet they exhibit a bandgap, and support linear and nonlinear defect-state guidance.
We demonstrate for the first time stable self-trapping and self-induced transparency of light propagating in colloidal nano-suspensions with negative polarizabilities. Comparing to “polystyrene-water”-colloidal systems with positive polarizabilities, a fivefold increase in transmission ratio is achieved.
We generate Wannier-Stark beams and observe shape-invariant propagation and acceleration in photonic lattices. In the absence of a lattice, such Wannier-Stark states diffract and deteriorate asymmetrically, in agreement with theoretical predictions.
