In this study, we investigated the epitaxial surface defects resulting from the carbon-inclusion defects in 4H-SiC substrates. Most carbon-inclusion defects developed into one of three types of epitaxial surface defects under normal epitaxial growth conditions. Among them, we found a regular hexagonal pit by high-resolution microscopy, which we regarded as a large-pit defect, and which had an adverse...
Social networks allow rapid spread of ideas and innovations while the negative information can also propagate widely. When the cascades with different opinions reaching the same user, the cascade arriving first is the most likely to be taken by the user. Therefore, once misinformation or rumor is detected, a natural containment method is to introduce a positive cascade competing against the rumor...
Internet of Things (IoT) is overturning traditional business models. IoT and Internet of Cars compose the internet of vehicles, which is creating driverless car times. Automotive aftermarket including maintenance, washing, car care, insurance and automobile finance, represents a whopping 60% of the overall auto market. Car wash is the most frequent one of all the service items, attracting internet...
Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is the most common and aggressive type of primary brain tumor in adults. Patients with this disease have a poor prognosis. The objective of this study is to identify survival-related individual genes (or miRNAs) and miRNA -mRNA pairs in GBM using a multi-step approach. First, the weighted gene co-expression network analysis and survival analysis are applied to identify...
To ensure a satisfactory QoE (Quality of Experience), it is essential to establish a method that can be used to efficiently investigate recognition performance for spontaneous speech. By using this method, it is allowed to monitor the recognition performance in providing speech recognition services. It can be also used as a reliability measure in speech dialogue systems. Previously, methods for estimating...
By introducing dual parasitic shorted strips and a loop strip, this study proposes a small-size antenna with multi-band WWAN/LTE operation in a mobile phone. The obtained impedance bandwidths across LTE and WWAN operating bands approach 318 MHz and 1738 MHz, respectively. The measured peak gains and antenna efficiencies are approximately 1.5 / 3.2 dBi and 81 / 90 % for the LTE/WWAN bands, respectively.
The group consensus problem of multi-agent systems is studied in this paper. The dynamics of each agent is modeled by nonlinear dynamics and external disturbances. To achieve group consensus, an adaptive control scheme is designed. Some conditions in terms of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs) are proposed to achieve group consensus of the systems. A numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness...
Swarm stability problem is addressed for a class of singular multi-agent systems, which is a specific type of dynamical multi-agent system and can be called compartmental network. Necessary and sufficient conditions for both consensus and critical swarm stability are presented, which take ultra-simple forms. Several numerical instances are manifested to verify the theoretical results.
This note discusses the controllability problems of complex networks. It is shown that almost any weighted complex network is controllable in the sense of exact controllability if only with noises on the arc weights; and the requisite quantity of independent input signals is always 1.
The method of slowness surface is used to study the ferroelastic phase transition of LiCsSO4. The slowness surfaces of the crystal have been plotted between 202K and 293K. The direction of the maximum slowness is on the XZ plane and the angle of it and X axis is −49.5 degree when temperature is above 206K. At 206K, the direction of the maximum slowness is along X axis. As the temperature decreases...
The three-dimensional slowness surface method is used to investigate the pure mode axes of single crystal BaTeMo2O9 on the basis of the experimental data. The relationship of the slowness surface and pure mode axes is studied. Under the condition of taking account of the piezoelectric effect, the piezoelectrically stiffened elastic constants are calculated. Pure mode axes of the BaTeMo2O9 crystal...
In the era of information, study on path planning plays an increasingly important role in car-navigation, planning of satellite orbit maneuver and mobile manipulator operation, etc. However, solving the new problem needs a large quantity of computing. DNA computing and engineering concept of synthetic biology provide us with a good solution to the extremely complex path planning problem. First, use...
The group consensus problem of nonlinear multi-agent systems with delayed Lurie-type dynamics is investigated in this paper. A pinning control scheme is designed under undirected communication graph. Firstly, a sufficient condition in terms of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs) is obtained to guarantee the group consensus in the multi-agent systems without disturbance. Then, a sufficient condition guarantee...
Visual sensor networks (VSNs) can track multiple pedestrians and capture high-quality videos of the monitored area. Therefore, VSNs is ideal for providing good broadcast service. In sports broadcasting, a basic requirement for broadcasters is to report the significant events as quickly as possible when they take place. To meet this requirement, we propose the Camera Scheduling for selected area coverage...
Protein-protein interaction (PPI) networks play a vital role in living cells. The possible error and bias in collecting protein-protein interaction network data are mainly factors to influence the reliability of the degree distribution of PPI networks. In this study, three factors including the false positive interaction of the PPI experiments, the different annotating of a protein in different protein...
Three dimensional slowness surfaces are used to investigate ferroelastic phase transitions of hexagonal crystals. Two classes of three dimensional slowness surfaces have been found. The soft mode and the most prominent softening direction have been determined by the maximum slowness. For a hexagonal crystal, the components of the elastic stiffness coefficients c44 or c66 has direct relation with the...
A wireless sensor network is said to form a belt-barrier for a region if it is able to detect any object moving from outside the region to inside. Recently, Cheng and Tsai found if camera sensors are used to form a belt-barrier, the breadth of the barrier becomes an important quality factor to ensure high quality of monitoring (QoM). Then, they proposed the minimum β-breadth belt-barrier construction...
Suspension is one of the important parts of automobile which has a great influence on the comfort of riding, the stability of handling and the control of vehicle's posture. With the simple two degree of freedom of a quarter of the simplified model of automotive suspension, we use the fixed-gain control and the adaptive control to design the controller. Making use of the MATLAB simulation, the scientific...
Infrared measuring device is a device used for infrared radiation characteristic measurement. It is widely applied to each field of the military, industrial, medical, agriculture and forestry in our production life. The calibration of infrared measuring equipment directly affects the system error and the test precision of the instrument, so establish the feasible and effective calibration method,...
Mesoscopic interaction of transverse electric (TE)-polarized light with metal gratings requires a dielectric coating on the metal surfaces to support a waveguide mode for optical resonances simulating those of surface plasmon resonances for transverse magnetic (TM)-polarized light. Here, we show a resonance-induced absorption of TE-polarized light at a dielectric-coated metal grating. The resonance...
