Based on the ray tracing method, the outdoor propagation characteristic at 28GHz are simulated and analyzed by comparison with the conventional 2.6GHz cellular band. The path loss is discussed in both line-of-sight and none-line-of-sight, and then the delay spread is analyzed at 28GHz and 2.6GHz. The analysis provides the foundation for the coverage of outdoor microcellular systems.
In-bed motion detection is an important techniquethat can enable an array of applications, among which aresleep monitoring and abnormal movement detection. In thispaper, we present a low-cost, low-overhead, and highly robustsystem for in-bed movement detection and classification thatuses low-end load cells. By observing the forces sensed by theload cells, placed under each bed leg, we can detect manydifferent...
Due to the instability and poor identification ability of a single pyroelectric infrared (PIR) detector for human target identification, this paper presents a PIR detection identification system that can collect thermal infrared features from different parts of human targets through multiple PIR sensors for the human identification. First, fast Fourier transform, short-time Fourier transform, and...
With the development of mobile communication key technology, the wireless channel condition has become an important factor to constraint the quality of wireless communication. The wireless channel measurements and modeling of the corridor at 900MHz and 1800MHz is mainly investigated based on the method of Shooting and Bouncing Ray (SBR) in this paper. Some multiple-path parameters are obtained in...
Coordinated multi-point(CoMP) is regarded as a key technology in LTE-Advanced to eliminate the inter-cell interference and improve the user throughput, especially in cell edge. Traditional single-threshold coordinated user division, irrespective of whether it is based on distance or other metrics, has a potential problem whereby channel state variations lead to frequent user mode changes between coordination...
The needs for increasing the profits of network operators and protecting our environment have led to great research interest in green communications. In this paper, we propose a novel scheme, called cognitive network cooperation (CNC), to achieve energy-efficient secondary transmissions while ensuring the quality-of-service (QoS) of primary transmissions in heterogeneous cognitive radio networks (HCRNs)...
The deployment of femtocells can effectively improve cellular network capacity without any significant increase in the network management costs. Femtocell base stations are usually installed by users which poses unique challenges for future mobile communication standards. The randomness of the locations of femtocells brings us a lot of difficulties to analyze and compare. In this paper, femtocell...
The internet of things (IoT) is a network to realize interconnects between almost any object and web services. It can be applied in many domains, such as radio frequency identification (RFID), wireless sensor network(WSN) and so on. The application of IoT brings us the higher efficiency and the more convenient life. In this paper, we propose a new IoT application framework to search the optimal routes...
In this paper, we propose an adaptive cross-layer radio resource allocation (CL_ARRA) scheme, which is compatible with the IEEE 802.16e-2005 Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) air interface. The scheme comprises two steps: dynamic subcarrier allocation (DSA) and dynamic power allocation (DPA). Using DSA and DPA, we obtain a cross-layer function to maximize the system throughput...
Channel estimation is an important technical issue in mobile communication system, the performance and capacity of mobile communication system are directly influenced by the speed and precision of channel estimation. This paper introduced the definition and the method currently existed of channel estimation firstly, and then proposed a method based on the probability of gain difference by the feature...
This paper presents a lateral resistive-contact electrothermally actuated MEMS switch for wireless communication applications. It is manufactured on a standard low-resistivity substrate, and its RF performance was improved by suspending the structures 25μm from the substrate, which is good for future integration with active devices in the system-on-chip concept. The switch is driven by a metal electrothermal...
Localization is always a critical technology of wireless network. This paper introduces the theory of RSS-base localization, sets up a new localization algorithm and analyzes excellence of this algorithm. This paper compares it with other algorithms and compares their localization accuracy and directional judgement accuracy by indoor experiments. The result indicates that analysis of the noises and...
This paper describes how to carry out functions of RFID device, how to enhance RFID technology, and how to use Wi-Fi technology to follow real-time tracks so as to definite location. Also, this paper lists some produce newly developed using 802.11 technology. And after being inspired from this technology, we propose some ideas, which would be helpful to RFID technology in future.
