In this paper, the low-profile radiation-pattern controllable antenna is presented. The diskloaded monopole antenna (DLMA) with four slits is designed for low-profile radiation element. And, planar CRLH-PE composited of the mushroom structures is designed. It is cleared that the DLMA and the CRLH-PE with the height of 0.03λ at 750 MHz can couple each other. The radiation patterns can be controlled...
A Yagi-Uda antenna with a small short interelement distance (d) of approximately 0.025 lambda is proposed for use as a UHF-band ITS in-vehicle antenna. A distributed constant line is added to the center of the reflector dipole as a reactor. It is shown that a Gw of more than 4.7 dBi can be achieved in the 10-MHz bandwidth. The antenna can be placed near the body of a car without any significant deterioration...
The pattern-controllable novel small antenna with CRLH-PE has been proposed. The distance between the radiator and the parasitic element of the proposed antenna is 1/20 of wave length. The directivity in arbitrary direction is obtained by resonation of an appropriate PTLH-PE in the usable frequency band of the dipole antenna. The minimization of the radiator is future study.
In this study, a composite right-/left-handed transmission line (CRLH TL) is used as a parasitic element. It is shown that a right-handed (RH) dipole antenna with the CRLH parasitic element has band rejection characteristics. Moreover, transmission characteristics and electric field distribution confirm that mutual coupling between the two dipole antennas can be reduced by using CRLH parasitic elements...
A varactor-loaded folded dipole antenna has been proposed for digital terrestrial radio reception. From calculation using ldquoFEKOrdquo, the proposed antenna maintains a VSWR of less than 1.6 and a figure-of-eight radiation pattern between frequency ranges of 187 MHz to 230 MHz. The proposed antenna has a compact structure of 332 mm by 30 mm which is suitable for sealing on vehiclespsila window....
The SAR-probe is usually calibrated using a rectangular waveguide with a matching dielectric spacer below 3 GHz. However, the probe diameter is comparable with the cross-section area of the waveguide above 3 GHz and it can deteriorate the accuracy of the calibration. Therefore, there is an alternative method for calibrating the SAR-probe; relating the output voltage of the probe to the field intensity...
In this paper, topology design optimization for electromagnetic materials, a left- handed leaky wave antenna for millimeter-wave applications, and left-handed dipole antennas have been presented along with some thoughts for future investigation. All have been the subject of recent metamaterial studies at TCRL and TEMA. Metamaterials will clearly open up a whole new field for automotive electronics...
