Research and development of new information assurance techniques and technologies is ongoing and varied. Each new proposal and technique arrives with great promise and anticipated success as research teams struggle to develop new and innovative responses to emerging threats. Unfortunately, these techniques frequently fall short of expectation when deployed due to difficulties with false alarms, trouble...
The paper describes how beamforming and monopulse techniques can be applied to an array of sequentially-fed, circular polarized, ultra-wideband array. By exploiting the same sequentially-fed antennas for beamforming and monopulse, we can achieve better target tracking, without increasing the antenna array size. The design equations of our proposed method, for the radar transceiver, are derived. To...
In this paper, we have presented the transmitter, antenna array, transmission and evaluation of the circularly polarized ultra-wideband signal at boresight direction. From measurements, it has been shown that, in the frequency band of 2.6-5.5 GHz, the transmitted signal has axial ratio of < 1 dB, polarization tilt between plusmn30deg, and left-hand polarization sense.
In this paper, we propose a novel amplitude-comparison monopulse receiver architecture for ultra-wideband radars. This monopulse receiver consists of four ridged-horn antennas placed in a square-feed configuration, a comparator circuit that generates the monopulse sum and difference signals, cross-correlation receivers that detect the monopulse signals, and an amplitude-comparison monopulse processor...
