Vehicular heterogeneous networks (VHNs) are a special type of wireless vehicular networks. In the VHNs, the nodes choose an access network to download data from the Internet. Most of the existing access network selection mechanisms concentrate on the perspective of individual nodes, only limited work focus on cooperative communications among vehicles. In this paper, a new network selection approach...
Based on analyzing different kinds of routing protocols' characteristics, this paper presents a new routing protocol, RPB, which combines the advantage of PEGASIS and GAF. According to the simulation results, compared with LEACH, PEGASIS and EEPB protocols, RPB works more outstanding in energy saving. This protocol also distributed averagely when the nodes died more than a half.
IEEE 802.11 based wireless local area networks (WLANs) are becoming more and more popular in home, office, enterprise and public areas primarily due to their low cost, simplicity of installation and mobility for users. On the other hand, voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) is poised to become an important Internet application. The combination of these two technologies, i.e. VoIP over WLAN, attracts...
