In this paper we present a novel technique for the selection of global natural scale from discrete wavelet transform. Here we define natural scale as the level associated with most prominent (dominant) eigenvalue. This technique is iterative and does not require full decomposition before finding the optimal wavelet level.
The rapid increase in the size of digital image and video collections is urging for the development of efficient browsing and search tools that skip the subjective task of keyword indexing, paving the way for the ambitious and challenging idea of content based description of imagery. With this goal in mind the MUVIS1 system attempts to provide an integrated solution for the indexing and retrieval...
In this paper, a novel statistical approach for nonuniform sampling of a time-limited signal is proposed. Based on dynamic range, the signal is divided uniformly in equal intervals which constitute coarse partition. Then, total number of samples is nonuniformly distributed among the intervals of coarse partition leading to nonuniform sampling. The problem for nonuniform allocation of samples within...
The multiview-video-plus-depth (MVD) format selected for 3D video standardization describes 3D scene by video and associated depth and enables generation of virtual views through the depth-image-based rendering (DIBR) process. The Kinect™ sensor is equipped with a red-green-blue (RGB) camera and a depth sensor and it is suitable to capture synchronous video and depth streams. However, these sensors...
