A novel planar monopole antenna for multiband operation is presented. The proposed antenna consists of an E-shaped patch and a 50 Ω coplanar waveguide (CPW) transmission line. There are two L-shaped slots cut out of the ground and one U-shaped slot out of the E-shaped patch. By etching the slots, band-rejected filtering properties in the PCS/WiMax bands are achieved. Analysis of the current distribution...
A new annular slot antenna (ASA) is proposed in this paper. The slot is perturbed to match the impedance of the fundamental and first-order modes of the annular slot. Results simulated using Ansoft HFSS are presented, which show that this new antenna can provide a dualband operation. The proposed ASA can be applied to IEEE802.11 WLAN systems.
A dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is placed on top of an L-probe-fed slotted cavity to form a circularly polarized (CP) hybrid antenna. The zonal slot is perturbed to excite CP fields in the lower band, whereas the DRA located on top of the cavity is fed by an inclined slot to excite CP fields in the upper band. Ansoft HFSS was used to simulate the proposed configuration. The return loss, axial...
