The realization of remotely pumped laser-like sources in the common air is an enabling step towards the development of new standoff sensing schemes in the atmosphere [1]. Although laser sources generating light in the opposite direction relative to that of the pumping radiation are particularly desirable, forward-emitting sources may also be useful. Pulsed backward-propagating laser emission at 845nm...
Femtosecond Tm-fiber-laser-pumped Ho:YAG room-temperature CPA system delivering scalable multi-mJ multi-kHz pulses with a bandwidth exceeding 12 nm and the average power of 15 W is developed. Recompressed 530-fs pulses are suitable for broadband WL generation in transparent solids.
We report on a 4-stage OPCPA system for high-field applications delivering 10-mJ ~40-fs pulses at 1.5 mum. The system is based on a fusion of femtosecond DPSS Yb technology and a picosecond Nd:YAG pump laser. In a first preliminary filamentation experiment in xenon, we observe spectral broadening of the recompressed multi-mJ 1.5 mum pulses.
