An indoor propagation model for simulating the signal backscattered by a UHF-RFID tag is presented in this paper. The ray-based numerical code includes tag and reader antennas features, and accounts for first-order reflection contributions from the environment. The application to a phase-based localization technique for UHF-RFID tags moving on a conveyor belt is shown.
Performance of a phase-based localization technique for UHF-RFID tags moving on a conveyor belt are analyzed through a measurement campaign in a real scenario. Phase data are acquired through off-the-shelf UHF-RFID equipment and the performance are shown in terms of location accuracy.
