A novel approach to design a pattern reconfigurable antenna element to extend the scanning range of phased array by adjusting the exciting amplitude of vector antenna is presented in this paper. A 2D and 3D vector antenna composed of orthogonal electric dipoles are simulated using CST software. Simulation results demonstrate the correctness of this approach.
A low profile wide-angle scan phased array antenna is designed in this paper. With the tile architecture, profile of the phased array antenna is reduced dramatically; in addition, the main beam of antenna array can steer to the desired direction by combining the invasive weed optimization method with the active element radiation pattern of inter-element, which includes the effects of mutual coupling...
A geometry centre feeding miniaturized microstrip rectangular ring antenna is designed for wide-angle scanning phased array antenna in this paper. With the proposed design, the peak gain of the antenna array only drops 3.4 dB when the main beam steers to 60°, which is slightly different with the theory value (3 dB) and it means the proposed antenna has excellent performance for wide-angle scanning...
An optimization approach based on alternating projection (AP) is proposed to generate low earth orbit (LEO)-satellite-borne multiple patterns with isoflux coverage. The purpose is to find a common amplitude distribution and different phases corresponding to the different patterns. The common amplitudes are with finite levels, which are calculated adaptively in the iteration. To demonstrate the good...
