Recently a special hybrid system called Switching Markov Jump Linear System (SMJLS) is studied. A SMJLS is subject to a deterministic switching and a stochastic Markovain switching. To extend the results already obtained and to investigate some new aspects of such systems, our main contributions in this paper are: i) Transient analysis of Markov process, i.e., the expectations of the sojourn time,...
This paper investigates the load frequency control (LFC) for multi-area power systems with modeling uncertainties and communication topology changes. A group of convex polytopes is firstly employed to model the uncertainty of power systems. Since the topology variant events are barely impossible to be explicitly detected in reality, the dynamic topology scenario is described as a finite switching...
This paper introduces a rail length-limited parallel-coupled cart-pendulums system which is one of the morphs from the inverted pendulum family. A swing-up control strategy based on optimization algorithm (pattern search) instead of manual tuning has been proposed for such kind of system to swing the pendulums up cooperating with the original stabilizing controller. The blockset-view of the system...
This paper studies the stabilization of the ball-and beam system by using switching control and state feedback. A numerical example is shown to illustrate an error in the results of paper (M. Guoliang et al., 2004). The reason causing such error is analyzed and the corresponding corrections are provided. The step of designing switching control strategy is presented.
