In this research, we compare hydrothermally synthesized TiO2 nanorods in an unsealed and a sealed system, respectively. Due to the variation of hydrothermal concentration, the morphology is very different. Then we further pre-fabricate a TiO2 seed layer by the sol-gel method and then hydrothermally synthesize TiO2 nanorods. The TiO2 nanorods can also be grown on the TiO2 seed layer successfully. This...
A new type of hybrid solar cells based on a heterojunction between PEDOT:PSS and vertically-aligned n-type GaAs nanowire arrays is investigated. Such solar cells exhibit a power conversion efficiency of 3.46 %.
One approach to improve device stability is using polymer/ZnO nanorod hybrid solar cell. In our solar cell, the interface of ITO/PEDOT:PSS can be avoided by employing ZnO nanorod using a hydrothermal method and the low-work-function metal Al can be replaced by Ag. ZnO nanorod is used as an excellent electron selective layer and Ag has the nature of less air sensitivity.
Organic-inorganic hybrid solar cells as low-cost renewable energy sources have attracted great attention due to the possibility of fabricating them on large-area, light-weight, flexible substrates by printing and coating technologies. Hashimoto et al. investigated the performance dependence of poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT): (6,6)-phenyl C61 butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM)/ZnO hybrid solar cells on...
As a result of the ability to tune the band-gap of III-V compound semiconductor materials to match the solar spectrum, solar cells made from II -V materials such as GaAs and InGaP have unsurpassed conversion efficiencies. However, after the deposition of the solar cell film, the substrate is of no further use for its performance. The reduction of the costs of III-V semiconductor materials and the...
Hybrid thin-film solar cells are fabricated on the glass substrate using ZnO nanorods, well-aligned single-crystalline Si nanowires (SiNWs), and poly(3-hexylthiophene):[6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (P3HT:PCBM) as well as micro-structured III-V semiconductors . The effect of introducing a solution-processed fullerene as an electron transport layer on the polymer/ZnO nanorod array composite...
