We realized an all polarization maintaining (PM), Q-switched erbium-doped fiber laser based on WSe2-PVA saturable absorber (SA). At the pump power of 280 mW, the laser had a pulse width of 1.013 μs, a repetition rate near 110 kHz and a center wavelength of 1560 nm. Q-switched mode-locked operation was also observed when the pump power reached 420 mW. An all polarization maintaining hybrid mode-locked...
We experimentally demonstrate an erbium-doped fiber laser which is passively mode-locked by Single-Wall Carbon Nanotubes (SWCNTs) saturable absorber. Generating 600 fs pulses at 120 MHz repetition rate, this laser exhibits a low rms timing jitter of 35 fs [10 Hz, 10 MHz]. To the best of our knowledge, this is the lowest timing jitter observed from a fiber laser passively mode-locked by SWCNTs.
