The current-driven homogenization theory combined with FEM is studied in this paper. The extracted effective parameters are used to compute the scattering parameters of homogenization medium. The computed results are compared with related periodic structure. Two results agree with very well.
In this paper, we applied a composite grid method (CGM) to solve the electromagnetic scattering problem of thin wire structures, which can greatly reduce the number of unknowns. Composite grid method derived from the domain decomposition method, solves the formulation on two sets of meshes totally different in mesh-size, the coarse mesh and the fine one. In electromagnetic scattering problems, the...
An electromagnetic parameter extraction method using SVM (Support Vector Machines) and open-ended rectangular waveguide, is established in this paper. A lot of S parameters, which are used to train the SVM, are calculated from the finite element models. After being trained, the SVM is used to predict the permittivity of the material using the known scattering coefficients. The simulation results show...
A new type of broadband electromagnetic (EM) absorber is designed with the genetic algorithm (GA). The absorber is based on a multilayer dielectric substrate sandwiched by the frequency selective surface (FSS) with resistive patch. Equivalent circuit theory shows that the normal incidence refection coefficient of this GA optimized structure is lower then -5 dB in the frequency band of 2-18 GHz with...
