We demonstrated a novel methane leak detection system that enables the remote detection and identification of fugitive emission of methane in multiple points employing only one optical fiber and using optical time domain reflectometry and optical frequency scanning in the absorption region of the analyzed gas. Multiple passive remote sensors can be analyzed using a single interrogator equipment with...
This paper describes the theoretical analysis and design of a temperature sensor based on a hollow core W-type optical fiber. The core region is filled with a proper mixture of solvents to achieve design goals. Results have shown that high sensitivity devices can be build using this structure.
