Cascaded stimulated Raman scattering emission is reported in high-Q As2S3 microspheres for the first time. Stimulated Raman scattering emission is observed up to the 5th order with a pump power of 500 μW at 1550 nm.
We demonstrate the operation of a fiber ring laser using a short segment of chalcogenide fiber. The laser is passively mode-locked via nonlinear polarization rotation and provides two different operation regimes of subpicosecond transform-limited pulses.
