We propose an optical node architecture, based on PPLN, simultaneously supporting optical multicast and frequency conversion.Multicasting with two tunable conversions is demonstrated with low power consumption in a flex-grid testbed with 224 Gb/s PM-16QAM signal.
Polarization independent multicasting is demonstrated in a PPLN. 3-fold and 2-fold wavelength conversion of a 112Gb/s 16QAM and a 224Gb/s PM-16QAM signal respectively, is experimentally achieved with penalties within 2.9dB at BER=10-3.
