An Optically controlled beam forming network has been developed, which has capacity of steering 2 beams and exciting 64 antenna elements. Using it, beam steering and beam width control is possible in parallel.
We propose an optically controlled multiple-beam phased array antenna employing spatial and wavelength multiplexing. We have developed the prototype of the optical beam-former, which enables control of 10 beams individually, and demonstrated at 18 GHz.
Polarization insensitivity of InAs/GaAs quantum dot optical amplifier has been demonstrated by controlling dot shape. This polarization insensitivity covers a bandwidth in excess of 40 nm.
We demonstrate an all-optical pulse reshaping and retiming operation using intersubband absorption in InGaAs/AlAs/AlAsSb coupled quantum wells. The pulse width reduction from 1ps to 300fs and the precise timing synchronization with a control pulse was achieved.
