The Digital Sampling Wattmeter of SP has been upgraded. New resistive shunts and dividers are built, with lower temperature coefficient and less power dependence. The aperture time of the samplers are increased. The calibration methods are also upgraded by use of more direct AC/DC calibration. The goal of 10 μW/W seems to be within reach.
A class 0.2 electricity meter for d.c. applications is being designed at SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden. The aim is to verify that suggested requirements for HVDC electricity meters can be fulfilled within a reasonable design and production cost. The suggested design is built on a high-resolution ADC and hi-impedance low-offset input circuits. This paper contains an analysis of how to implement...
A GaAs/AlGaAs-based photonic-crystal device with MEMS activated insertion/removal of defect posts into/from sub-micron photonic-crystal holes has been fabricated and investigated. This allows the device to actively create/remove point resonators or waveguides in the photonic-crystal membrane.
The main purpose of this study is to investigate how to provide authentication in wireless sensor networks and how it can be done in an energy efficient way. Other goals are to give an introduction to general security in wireless sensor networks and to see how the addition of message authentication codes (MAC) of various lengths affects the lifetime of a sensor node. To do this, a study of security...
