Intercore crosstalk of heterogeneous multicore fiber is investigated based on coupled-mode theory. Random twisting model is used for estimating the crosstalk. The crosstalk of two kinds of fibers: triangular lattice 30-core fiber with four kinds of cores and square lattice 32-core fiber with two kinds of cores is investigated both theoretically and experimentally. Unlike previous study, measured crosstalk...
A simple and versatile design method for suppressing the reflection of photonic crystal (PC) cavities is proposed. The proposed method only requires the tuning of the waveguide width and distance between the waveguide and cavity, without changing the structure of cavity itself.
We demonstrate optimized design of 4LP-mode multicore fibers (MCFs) with low differential mode delay (DMD) for high spatial multiplicity and find that 4LP-mode 19-core fiber can achieve the highest reported relative core multiplicity factor (RCMF) with a cladding diameter (CD) of less than 250 pm.
We investigate the nonlinear coefficient γ in a one-dimensional slotted photonic crystal coupled resonator optical waveguide with modulated mode-gap and find that the nonlinear coefficient of γ≈ 10,000 m−1W−1 is achievable.
