In this paper, a new compensation scheme for timing deviation is proposed in the SCDMA mobile satellite communication system. Instead of adjusting the timing deviation directly, the scheme adjusts the timing deviation according to the timing deviation of the current period and the last period. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme performs better than the traditional scheme.
A reduced K-best sphere decoding (K-best SD) algorithm for Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) detection is proposed. The algorithm reduces the complexity of the K-best SD by combining the statistics character of the signal and the requirement of the quality of service (QoS). In the reducing processing of the proposed algorithm, the chi-square distribution (CSD) property of the signal, the optimal...
In this paper two multi-cell interference cancellation (MCIC) schemes are proposed for the TD-SCDMA compatible mobile satellite service (MSS) system, including the parallel scheme and the serial scheme. In the MCIC schemes inter-cell interference is reconstructed and cancelled with the initial data, which is obtained through traditional single-cell joint detection (SCJD). Both intra-cell and inter-cell...
A three-layer interleaver scheme, which is added into TD-SCDMA specification for the compatibility with satellite environment, is proposed for 3G mobile satellite communication systems. Simulation results for satellite channel are presented, which demonstrate that the third interleaver can improve the system performance significantly and satisfy the demands. The proposed interleaver design also provides...
An adaptive adjustment strategy in the transmission of physical frame is proposed for a satellite communication system based on time division duplexing. The proposed strategy adaptively adjusts both superframe length and uplink synchronization time according to the subregion determined by the positions of all active users. Meanwhile, a transition procedure for physical frame adjustment is also designed...
A noval signal transmission method of asynchronous code division multiple access (CDMA) is proposed to improve the utilization of uplink timeslots for the time division duplexing (TDD) satellite communication systems. The terminals at different positions within a beam of the satellite antenna transmit their data blocks at different moments in the uplink timeslot window according to a certain rule...
The plan of constructing satellite communications system has been implementing in China since the miserable Wenchuan Earthquake in 2008. Several radio transmission technologies of terrestrial cellular systems are investigated to adapt to the satellite communications environment. In order to study the feasibility of TDD or HFDD satellite communications system compatible with TD-SCDMA standard, an analytical...
Turbo receivers have been widely studied and used in the field of iterative signal processing. In this paper, a novel turbo receiver combined with multiuser carrier frequency offset (CFO) compensation in frequency-domain is proposed for orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) uplink. Based on the principle of frequency-domain turbo equalization, the proposed turbo receiver jointly performs...
A non-Cyclic Prefixed Multiple-Input Multiple-Output Single-Carrier Frequency-Domain Equalization (non-CP MIMO-SCFDE) system based on a recursive algorithm of Joint Channel Estimation and Data Detection (recursive-JCEDD) is proposed in this paper. Unlike the traditional CP MIMO-SCFDE system, the transmitted block of the proposed system is designed in the way that block-type pilot sequences and Single-Carrier...
We propose in this paper a non-cyclic prefixed multiple-input multiple-output orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (non-cp MIMO-OFDM) system based on a recursive algorithm of joint channel estimation and data detection. Unlike in the traditional cyclic prefixed MIMO-OFDM system, the transmitted sequence of the proposed system is given in the way that block-type pilot sequences and OFDM symbols...
We propose in this paper a practical adaptive modulation and channel encoding scheme for spatial multiplexing multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems. The proposed scheme aims not only to maximize the average spectral efficiency (ASE) for a given bit error rate (BER) constraint but also to lower the computational and hardware complexity. First, an adaptive transmission principle for spatial...
We propose a pseudo-noise (PN) sequence-based carrier frequency offset (CFO) estimation algorithm for generalized-orthogonal frequency division multiple access (generalized-OFDMA) uplink. In proposed algorithm, a PN sequence and its circular-shifting versions are employed as training sequences for different users; Then channel parameters with CFO factors from each user to a base station can be estimated...
This paper presents two novel channel estimation algorithms for block transmission systems with two transmit antennas over frequency-selective fading channels: time-domain-processing-based algorithm (TDPBA) and frequency-domain-processing-based algorithm (FDPBA). Performance analysis of the two novel algorithms and simulation results show that both can achieve good channel estimation performance at...
