Bionics principle is widely applied in many fields. The application of bionics in antenna design is relatively not so common. Some examples are illustrated in this paper to show the use of bionics in antenna design. The results show that it is efficient and valid to design antennas with the bionics principles.
Bionics principle is applied to antenna radar cross section (RCS) reduction in this paper. Based on a printed circular disc monopole antenna, two novel bionic antennas are proposed by use of two models from animal kingdom and plant kingdom, respectively. Monostatic RCS and ultrawideband related characteristics of the three antennas are simulated, experimentally verified and compared. The results show...
