We propose and experimentally demonstrate a 60-GHz ultra-high throughput (VHT) wireless over fiber multicast system. A novel 16-QAM-OFDM hierarchical modulation is implemented and 2.5-dB performance improvement is achieved comparing with conventional I-Q modulation.
In this letter, we propose and experimentally demonstrate an all-optical virtual private network (VPN) structure in a wavelength-division-multiplexed (WDM) passive optical network (PON). The scheme utilizes a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) in optical line terminal (OLT) to transfer optical VPN data among different optical network units (ONUs) based on the cross-gain-modulation (XGM) effect...
We propose and experimentally demonstrate a simple and cost-effective bi-directional radio-over-fiber (RoF) system for simultaneous transmission of downstream baseband, microwave (MW) and millimetre-wave (MMW) signals based on a single-drive Mach-Zehnder modulator (MZM). Upstream data transmission is realized by re-modulation of the downstream signals.
In this paper, a simple technique to realize frequency quadrupling and upconversion in a radio over fiber (RoF) link is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The frequency quadrupling is achieved by a single-drive Mach-Zehnder modulator (MZM) which is biased at the peak of the transmission curve and driven by a radio frequency (RF) signal with an amplitude swing of ~3.06Vπ, where Vπ is the half-wave...
We propose and experimentally demonstrate a simple and cost-effective scheme to converge a 60-GHz radio-over-fiber (RoF) system with a wavelength division multiplexed-passive optical network (WDN-PON) system. Only 10-GHz electronic devices are used to generate a 60-GHz RoF signal based on frequency-sextupling technology. For n-channel WDN-PON and RoF converged system, only n+1 modulators are required.
We propose a scheme of multiple 16QAM signals generation at 40 Gbit/s using a novel transmitter. The scheme is based on a dual-parallel Mach-Zehnder modulator (DPMZM) and a following phase modulator (PM). We demonstrate the proposed transmitter by VPI simulation and three types of 16QAM signals are obtained, which shows the feasibility of the transmitter. In order to further investigate the transmission...
