In this work we studied the multifractal spectrum behavior calculated during the presence of a possible seismic electric signal (SES). This signal was detected in geolectrical time series registered prior a seism of M6.7 occurred on October 24, 1993 in México. We calculated the multifractal spectrum by using no overlapping windows of segments of 1 hour. Our results display the singularities spectrum...
The objective of this paper is to develop an ultrasound signal processing technique suitable to measure changes in distance between two membranes that simulate the pleural membranes in a basic human thorax phantom. The proposed technique is based on the correlation and autocorrelation methods. Obtaining an accuracy of 96.83 percent compared to those measures obtained with a caliper.
The objective of this paper is to develop ultrasound signal processing techniques suitable to measure changes in distance between two membranes in a basic human thorax phantom. The two proposed techniques are based on correlation and phase analysis, getting an accuracy of 94.93% and 92.60% respectively regarding to the measurements obtained with the vernier caliper.
Nowadays new methods of echographic signal processing have emerged to support the medical diagnosis. In the first stage of development, these methods should be assessed with a considerable number of realistic echo-signals. In this paper, a mathematical model of hepatic tissue is proposed. This will be used to generate echo-graphic signals adjusted to realistic acquired waveforms. The model is based...
Transmission of videos in error prone environments such as mobile communications, may lead to video corruption or loss so that received visual quality is degraded. Therefore, it is essential to implement efficient and low complexity error concealment methods which allow visually reducing the degradation caused by the missing information. The contribution of this work is to report the results of a...
