Hybrid clusters comprising TiO2 nanoparticles (NPs) supported by discrete clusters of Au NP were fabricated through a template guided self-assembly strategy, and the electromagnetic interactions between the building blocks were investigated using experimental and theoretical tools. The performed studies reveal that electromagnetic interactions between the building blocks result in an enhancement of...
Nanoparticle cluster arrays (NCAs) are two-dimensional photonic-plasmonic crystals that are fabricated through a combination of top-down and bottom-up fabrication methods and thus enable to integrate chemically assembled structures into extended arrays with defined morphologies. The ability to control feature sizes on nano to micron-meter length scales provide new possibilities for fabricating complicated...
We demonstrate lasing in two-dimensional deterministic aperiodic nanostructures with optical pumping. The lasing modes are strongly localized within the structures. Such lasers combine the advantages of both photonic crystal lasers and random lasers.
